You can have prepared a number of spells equal to 1/2 your paladin level + your Charisma modifier. As a level 2 paladin with a Charisma modifier is +3, this means you can prepare 4 spells. For purposes of this illustration let’s say you pick the first four on the list bless, command, compelled duel, and cure wounds.

How many spells can I have prepared 5e?

With an Intelligence of 16, your list of prepared Spells can include six Spells of 1st or 2nd Level, in any combination, chosen from your Spellbook. If you prepare the 1st-level spell Magic Missile, you can cast it using a 1st-level or a 2nd-level slot.
