The weekly Exotic item merchant, Xur, hangs out in random locations around the world of Destiny. In Destiny 2, he can appear all over the map, as well as inside the Tower. This week, you can find Xur in the Tower, standing on the back stairs of the Hangar.
Shaders have multiple sources. The easiest one is to dismantle an item that has a shader applied to it, but some shaders can’t be acquired by that. Another way is through Eververse engrams you get for leveling up your Season Pass. You almost always get three copies of one Eververse Shader from an Engram.
Xur can be found in a number of places; the Hall of Guardians, near Arcite 99-40, or in the North Tower, in front of the wooden doors. He can also be found in the Ship Wright area of The Tower near Dead Orbit Vendors. His location varies each weekend, so keep an eye and an ear out.
Players can get an Exotic Cipher via the Season Pass. The other option is from Xur. As for the Exotic Cipher available from Xur, it’s actually a reward from a quest. Players will need to find Xur each weekend and complete his quest to unlock another cipher.

Each Friday on the daily reset, Xur appears on one of these planets and he will stay on that same location until the next Weekly Reset on Tuesday. In Destiny 2, Xûr can currently appear in various locations across the European Dead Zone, Titan, Nessus, Io and The Tower hangar.
Once a player received a shader in Destiny, they were able to apply it to any set of armor at any time. … Shaders in Destiny 2 are consumable single-use items. Use a shader once and it will vanish from your inventory. To make matters worse, shaders can now only be applied to a single weapon or piece of armor.
When buying a shader from Eververse, only buy one and then pull from collections after that. Costs 40 bright dust each when buying directly from the Eververse, but per recent changes with Shadowkeep, pulling from collections after purchasing once costs 500 glimmer and 2 legendary shards.
The Bergusian Night shader is only available through the Bergusia forge. When you forge a weapon or get a piece of armor from the Bergusia forge, it has a chance of coming with the Bergusian Night shader applied. You must dismantle the piece of gear to actually get a copy of the shader added to your collection.
On the planet Earth, Xur can be found near his ship along the upper area of the cliffs to the North of the Winding Cove Landing Zone. This weekend, Xur is selling four exotic items: Xur Armor (23 Legendary Shards): Wormhusk Helmet (Hunter Helmet).
Spending your Exotic Cipher to get old weapons
The Exotic Cipher’s primary use is to help new players get retired weapons. Once you have an Exotic Cipher, take it, 100,000 Glimmer, 3 Enhancement Prisms, and some planetary materials to the Cryptarch, Master Rahool, in the Tower.
Who is Xur? Xur: Agent of the Nine and a vendor in Destiny 2. He sells Legendary and Exotic items for Legendary Shards. He only appears on the weekends between 12 PM EST on Friday to 12 PM EST on Tuesday, and his location changes each week.
